2014 Subaru WRX STI revealed – and it’s coming to the UK
We learnt last week that the new Subaru WRX STI was heading for a debut at the Detroit Auto Show and it’s now arrived, as has confirmation that the new WRX STI is going on sale in the UK too. Subaru UK has confirmed that because the Yen has weakened there’s now a strong enough case to put the new WRX STI on sale in the UK, and that it will cost less than the original list price of the old model at £28,995. The new WRX STI gets the familiar 2.5 litre four-pot delivering 305bhp and 290lb/ft of torque, sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
Hyundai i40 Estate debuts in production-ready guise at Geneva
The Hyundai i40 has been cropping up all over the world in the last year as a very credible contender in the D-Segment. And now – better late than never – Europe gets its own Hyundai i40. The i40 on show at Geneva this week is the one designed for Europe at Hyundai’s European Design Studios in Germany.
NEW figures point to an average of 200 drivers arrested per day for drink driving related offences over the past Christmas period. The data, from the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), show that 6,550 drivers gave positive breath tests or refused or failed to give a test out of 191,040 drivers. The campaign ran from November 29 to January 1 across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
